Mask Mode offers face-privacy choices for supported CumWith live rooms while keeping the selected mode clear to other participants.
Choose your camera mode
Options include camera off, face visible, eye bar, soft blur, pixel face, and face shadow. You can change modes or leave whenever you want.
Processed for the room experience
Mask effects are applied to the outgoing camera presentation. CumWith records aggregate feature-use events so the team can improve the options, not private video content for analytics.
Clear expectations before entry
Room cards and rules can state whether faces are optional, encouraged, or required. A privacy mode never overrides another participant’s boundaries or the room’s disclosed rules.
Feed and profile uploads
New photos and short videos for the feed or your profile are checked for a face on this device. If a face is found, you pick an on-device mask: eye bar, soft blur, pixel face, or face shadow. If the check runs and finds no face, confirm that and the file uploads without a mask. If the check cannot run, you can retry or confirm that the file has no face. If a face is found but the mask is not confident, the upload stops. Photos are re-encoded again on the server, which removes camera location data. Viewers can report a file that shows a face so a moderator can review it. Media already in your account is left as it is.
Know the limits
No technical mask can prevent screenshots, external cameras, or recognition from voice and surroundings. Avoid identifiable details when anonymity matters. Some browsers, including iOS Safari, cannot re-encode a masked video.
